2018 Aristotle Petite Sirah

VINEYARDS
The Monterey region is deined by morning fog, strong winds, broad temperature swings and intense sunshine. The warmer inland temperatures are moderated by the powerful influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, which averages 50° throughout the year. Each and every day, the temperatures of Monterey rise and fall precipitously, conveyed by fog, strong winds and bright sunlight. In Hames Valley, this triad of elements promotes the cultivation of Petite Sirah to superb, distinctive result. The long, warm days allow full-bodied, dark fruit flavors to develop while the dramatic nighttime cooling preserves the balance and structure of this supple wine.
WINEMAKING
Upon arrival to the winery, the grapes were crushed and fermented in small lots to extract the full flavors and tannin structure for which Petite Sirah is so well known. The wine was then pressed and racked at dryness for oak aging.
TASTING NOTES
Deep, intriguing and intense, our Petite Sirah is both sophisticated and approachably delicious. Aromas of blackberries, vanilla and mocha lead to flavors of d’Agen plums, black currants and tobacco. Full-bodied, well-integrated tannins finish with a finesse of rich black fruit.
