2018 Elder Rock Pinot Noir

VINEYARD
Millions of years ago, alluvial fans and flood plains containing rock and shale fragments were deposited along the Central Coast region of California. These ancient marine layers are evidenced today by the rocky terrain and soils that we call elder lo ‘ am ’. At Elder Rock, we strive to craft wines that display the unique terroir and prehistoric roots of the land, wines that express a strong sense of place.
WINEMAKING
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented. The grapes were pressed and the wine left to settle in stainless steel prior to being racked off the heavy lees. Post-fermentation, the wine was aged with a combination of French and American oak. The final individual lots were blended just prior to bottling.
