VINEYARDS

The Pinot Noir grapes used to make District 7 Rosé come from our estate vineyards located in the Salinas Valley of Monterey County. This region is renowned for having the longest growing season in California due to the strong maritime influence from Monterey Bay. Here the cool, windy, foggy conditions produce wines of great character, texture, and structure.

WINEMAKING

The Pinot Noir grapes for our Rosé were destemmed, lightly crushed, and allowed to macerate with their red skins for a short time before being gently pressed. Fermentation was conducted with select yeast at cool temperatures in stainless steel to retain the bright fruit esters and floral aromas. After fermentation, the wine was aged in stainless steel for 4 months

TASTING NOTES

The District 7 2020 Rosé delivers aromas of fresh strawberry, violet, and red currant that can only come from our sustainably farmed, cold-climate vineyards. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with juicy red fruit flavors of cherry and raspberry and a lingering finish. This is a refreshing wine to serve with summer salads, light pasta dishes, grilled fish, or soft cheeses
